Here are 12 amazing secrets that will help you achieve a great body though your eating habits.

1. The Ultimate Diet Plan

The most trusted source of fitness and weight-loss information for women, we spend countless hours thumbing through medical journals, nutrition news reports, and exercise studies. Plus, we’re lucky enough to have access to the secrets of the women whose livelihoods depend on staying shapely and sexy: actresses, singers, models, and trainers. With this wealth of information at our fingertips, it’s only natural for us to spill the lessons we’ve learned to our readers.

Enter The Bikini Body Diet. This new book by Shape editor-in-chief Tara Kraft is the ultimate diet and workout plan to help you achieve your best body ever—and maintain it for the long haul. While this program produces results in a matter of days, it’s not just a quick fix. This science-backed plan is based on strategies that help women like Tara and our cover models maintain a bikini-worthy body all year long. On the following pages, you’ll discover 12 principles of healthy eating that form the foundation of The Bikini Body Diet. Implement these tactics in your own life to transform your body, regain your confidence, and keep it for good!

2. Eat 3 Meals Per Day—No Snacking!

Many diet plans push the mini-meal approach that involves eating small portions six to eight times a day. Only problem? Lots of people subscribe to the “six to eight times a day,” but not so much to the “mini-meals.” To make this strategy work, you’d have to keep most of your meals and snacks in the 200 to 300 calorie range. Easy enough for snacks, but that’s generally not going to happen for lunch, dinner, or even breakfast.

Instead, fill up on three meals per day that will keep you satisfied and your energy high. This means no grazing throughout the day, even on healthy choices like carrots and dip. Research backs up this strategy: A 2012 study found that women who ate three meals a day had lower fat in their bloods than those who ate six, even with the same total daily calories. Give yourself only three opportunities to eat, and you’ll slash the chances of overeating and gaining weight.

3. Fill Up on Fruits and Veggies

Losing weight—and keeping it off—isn’t just about the number of times you eat during the day: It won’t do you a lick of good to reduce your meals/snacks from six to three if those three meals could feed a suburban neighborhood. First, you need to re-familiarize yourself with a “serving” really looks like. One trick to control your calories is to fill your plate halfway with fruits and veggies. Eating more of these nutrient-packed foods have been shown to be one of the most important predictors of weight loss. Then, fill the other half with healthy proteins and carbs, which we’ll cover in the next slide.

Slim women know that keeping portions in check is crucial for maintaining a healthy physique. Keep each serving of non-fruits-and-veggies, including carbs and proteins, about the size of your fist. It’s a simple eyeball test, and while it certainly gives you some room to cheat if you’re so inclined (“Well, tonight, I’m going to use Sasquatch’s fist as my guide”), the point is that it teaches you to develop an instinct—and consistent behavior—for eating healthy.

The payoff for keeping portion size under control is huge. In a Cornell University study, those people who ate smallish portions at lunch consumed nearly 250 fewer calories daily and lost a little over a pound a week. This flies in the face of conventional wisdom, which tells you that if you eat less during the day, you’ll gorge at night. Researchers say that after every meal your body resets itself, so smaller portions today won’t make you gnaw the arm of the couch tomorrow, and you’ll experience the benefit of fewer total calories consumed.

With so many drink choices—Sodas! Apple Martinis! Venti Mocha Nacho Grande!—available today, it’s easy to make diet-blowing decisions. But the right kinds of liquids can be part of the foundation of a healthy diet. Homemade soups and juices can be packed with nutrients and as water-based liquids, and research shows they’ll help you feel satisfied. In fact, one recent study found those who ate a soup-based meal experienced greater satiety than those who ate a mix of solids and liquids of the same ingredients.

Now, we don’t mean pre-packaged soups and bottled juices, which are often loaded with sodium and added sugars. We’re talking about healthful, tasty soups and juices you can whip up at home with wholesome ingredients. For example, lentil soup makes a filling dinner, while a green juice made with an apple, kale, lemon, and celery is a perfect choice for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up. Drink water or unsweetened green tea the rest of day. Coffee is also fine, but minimize the additions—if you can drink it black, that’s best. If not, try a little almond milk. Wine is fine in moderation, as are clear liquors like vodka (don’t mix it with soda or sugary mixers, though).

Drop the sodas, diet or not. Even the no-calorie versions have waist-widening effects: studies have found that diet soda was associated with increased waist size, BMI, and total percentage of fat. One theory as to why this happens is that because diet sodas have no calories, their sweet taste messes with our hormonal systems, and our bodies crave sugar even more than if we had regular soda because our need for sugar hasn’t been satisfied. Replace caloric beverages—including sweetened tea, juices, sugary shakes, coffee drinks, cocktails—with water and you’ll save an average of 200 calories per day. That equates to nearly a pound lost in two weeks just from making one swap.

7. Add in Supplements

We live in a world designed to help us undo our own mistakes—thanks, spell-check, password retrieval systems, and autocorrect! In your diet, it also makes sense to have backups—little cheats that can help in your quest for achieving your healthy body goals. Here are two supplemental allies we recommend.

First, magnesium, a muscle relaxer, helps you keep calm and promotes peaceful sleep, which is a crucial part of weight loss. Magnesium is needed for over 300 chemical reactions in the body, including keeping heart rhythm steady, regulating blood sugar levels, and helping lower blood pressure. Recent studies have also suggested that it can aid in weight loss and body shaping. Eat plenty of leafy green vegetables, beans, and nuts to consume the recommended 310 to 320mg daily.

Secondly, many of us are also deficient in vitamin D, which can aid in increasing muscle strength. Low levels of it have been linked to heart disease, cancer, and other ailments. To reach the recommended value of 600 IU daily, make sure to get outdoors for at least 15 minutes, especially in winter months, and eat a variety of foods such as fish, eggs, and fortified dairy products.

8. Buff Your Body with Protein

Building lean muscle is an essential part of slimming down. Besides giving you that strong and sexy look, muscle also helps keep your metabolism revved so you burn more fat. Focus your meals around lean sources of protein—foods that are packed with it but don’t have a lot of saturated fat. That means eggs, fish, chicken, turkey, and even some lean red meats. In particular, fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as tuna, salmon, and mackerel, tend to be the best choices cited by nutrition experts. Try to fit protein into the first meal of your day (hello, eggs!). A 2013 study found that while having breakfast changed hormonal signals that control appetite, only a high-protein breakfast led to changes in signals that led to reductions in nighttime snacking.

Forget the marketer’s version of “fruit”—Froot Loops, Juicy Fruit, and the like—and fill your plate with real, whole fruits. They’re packed with nutrients, like antioxidants and fiber to keep you full, plus, research points to fruits as being strong disease-preventers. For example, two half-cup servings of blueberries can lower your risk of type 2 diabetes by as much as 23 percent. Grapefruit can help your body use insulin more effectively, keep blood sugar in check, and improve your calorie burn. Potassium, found in bananas and avocados, has been shown to help decrease your chances of dying from cardiovascular disease. Fruit is also great substitute for dessert, and can satisfy your cravings for sweets. Vary your choices—from apples to melons to berries to plums and more—so you’re getting the most diverse nutritional benefits possible.

We know vegetables may not be as fun as fries, but now you most likely know exactly why your mom implored you to eat up: Veggies are a nutritional deity. They’re filled with vitamins and minerals, usually low in calories, and despite how they’re stereotyped, they can taste amazing. The evidence is clear that vegetables not only assist with weight loss, but also help with health problems, such as a high blood pressure. One study even showed that people who ate the most vegetables rich in alpha-carotene (found in leafy greens, broccoli, and carrots) had a 39 percent lower risk of premature death than those who ate the least. With all the good health benefits packed into vegetables, it won’t come as any surprise that increased veggie consumption correlates with increased weight loss. If there’s one category of truly “super” foods, vegetables would be it. They’re low-cal, satisfying, and packed with properties to make your whole body healthier. Bottom line: more vegetables = better body. (via Shape)

A 50-year-old Ugandan man identified as Mohammed Ssemanda, has surprised all and sundry by marrying three women at a wedding ceremony, and the newly weds were all captured on camera, all smiles at the event.

While speaking to New Vision newspaper, the groom who is a food vendor in Kasenyi landing site, a Kampala surburb, said he opted for the joint wedding with his three wives due to lack of finance to hold separate functions.

He said; “My wives are not jealous against each other. Good enough, each one has got a home and I promise to work harder and support them”.

The man’s first wife, 48-year-old Salmat Naluwugge, has spent 20 years with him and they have five kids, while the others are; 27-year-old Jameo Nakayiza, and 24-year-old Mastulah, who are sisters.

“I thank our husband for marrying us all at once, a sign that will not discriminate or sideline any of us,” a visibly overjoyed Naluwugge said at the wedding.

Nearly everyone has been involved in long distance relationships at some point in their life. Most of us have failed to maintain it, and have inevitably broken up, even though it may have been a promising relationship. Why is that so? What are the common reasons for breaking up in those relationships, and how can you make them work?

Long distance relationships have both advantages and disadvantages.

For some, the distance is a good way to slowly open up to the relationship without the incessant presence of the partner. The romance stays kindled because you aren’t around the person 24/7, having to see various habits and routines that can get repetitive.

In terms of disadvantages, it is very frustrating that there is no intimacy, no hugging, no kissing – at least between the meetings. You will experience difficulties in connecting because you don’t have eye contact, and can’t spend time together. Then again, that makes the meetings so much more intense than they would be in a “normal” relationship. It’s the quality, not the quantity.
It can work, but there are some rules and guides you have to follow. Of course, there is also a very important condition that without, any long term relationship will not work:

Must Read: #5 Early Signs Of An Unhealthy Relationship

In long distance relationships, you must have a true interest in each other. I mean a deep, emotional connection, whether you’ve been together before the spacial separation or you’ve just met each other through chat or e-mail. I’m afraid a physical attraction is not enough.

Know where you are heading.

Have a light at the end of the tunnel. What do you want to accomplish in your partnership? Have goals and a time frame for when you want to be together. It is very important that you both have a hope to live for.

I think that this is the most common reason why some relationships over distance don’t work – they don’t have a plan. They just hope it will turn out right eventually, and that a miracle is going to happen.
Certainly this also means you will have to make sacrifices. At least one of you. Realize that you most likely only have three options:
1. She moves to him 2. He moves to her 3. Both move to another place
Start talking about it as soon as you realize that you want to be together. The biggest mistake you can make is to hush it up.

Plan to meet and communicate on  regular basis.
Try to see each other every month, or depending on the distance, every three months. Plan this ahead, and include some activities like town visits, seeing a movie, a weekend full of fun. Make it a celebration, an explosion – something very special!
Soon these short meetings will be something you long for, something that you will align your life around. Remember, you can only get a real connection by being close, feeling and smelling a person. You don’t get scent with BBM or skype, or that initial wow you feel inside when you see your love. So, to add spice to your long distance relationships, do everything you can to meet at least once a month.

Use modern technologies to communicate.
You need all the help you can get in long distance relationships, so why not use the glorious benefits of a modern communication world? Use any of your instant messaging apps and find time to connect to each other every day. Use Skype or something similar to talk to each other for free. Believe me, it’s awesome watching a movie together while simultaneously talking to each other. Using all this electronic stuff will make it much easier for you both. Imagine how it used to be 100 years ago, when a letter used to take months

Occasionally give yourselves a free day
This one-sided communication – I mean with no physical interaction – can sometimes frustrate you very intensively. It is possible that this frustration then turns to conflicts between you as an outlet for it. This could lead to misunderstandings that are very difficult to resolve on phone. Believe me – you do not want to have a fight over BBM or phone. I found it very helpful to insert a day or two without any communication. What happens then is that you
miss each other very intensely, and you usually find yourselves at a much higher level than you were before.
If the only way of interaction between you is canceled for a day or two, you will either progress or doubt. In any case, you will know where you stand. This is also a good way to test the strength of your relationship.

Beware of Jealousy
Jealousy is a very dangerous thing and can threaten every romantic relationship. Jealousy is commonly a lack of trust and understanding. It very often reveals insecurities and bad experiences in other relationships.
The keyword here is simply – trust. You cannot control and observe your partner. You can only have faith in your relationship, and in the things you have built in the times you have had together. Hold on to that, and never give in to that green eyed monster. Jealousy is one of the most negative and destructive emotions there is!

Avoid dangerous “Situations”
As mentioned before, trust is essential in long distance relationships. If you completely trust your partner, and also have faith in your relationship, you can pretty much do what you want without endangering anything you have together. However, I nevertheless recommend avoiding some specific situations. Of course it depends on the person, but I would not go out with anyone of the opposite sex alone, or go to wild parties. Simply avoid temptations that could distract you from each other. Better safe than sorry!

Never lose faith
Watch out – you will meet a lot of skepticism. People will “warn you” about these kind of relationships, especially those who have had negative experiences with them. Don’t listen to them. People tend to negate things they failed on. Listen to me – it can definitely work, but you both have to believe it.

Always stay positive
Always assume that your partner loves you and cares about you. Never assume anything negative, whether you read something in his/her messages or you disliked how he/she made a weird comment on something. Don’t interpret too much into anything. The problem with non-face-to-face communication is the lack of facial expression. It is so easy to misinterpret, but unfortunately much harder to trust and stay positive. I assure you, if something was really wrong, you would know it.
As you can see, I’m definitely positive about long distance relationships. They expose ongoing life lessons, and prove that love, loyalty, and faith are the vital ingredients to a lasting relationship. Have faith, have trust and you both will succeed in the end.

Cheers.

I have been dating a man for the past seven months who  travels constantly with his job.  I am 32 and he is 35.

Because of  his work, sometimes we don’t see each other for up to five weeks at a time, then we meet for a few days. I really miss him but it works.

We recently had a frank discussion about sex and both admitted we had slept with another person recently. Strangely, I did not feel any jealousy but my friends have been shouting me down.

I like my set-up – it’s exciting and convenient. Should I have felt some jealousy? I love him just the way he is, but my friends think otherwise. Should I listen to my friends?

Jealousy is one of those emotions that eats you from the inside if not handled in the right manner. The truth is that this feeling dwells in virtually everyone, we only exert different levels of control over it. This article is therefore to help if you have challenges with control; to teach you how to deal with jealousy in your relationship.

Well, the first thing to understand is that jealousy is an instinct that we humans have to protect us from losing the person we love. So, it is totally natural to feel jealous and it’s totally natural to express your jealousy too. You can’t totally take away jealousy from your relationship. A good dose of it is needed to keep your feelings in check, and like every drug, an overdose can kill your relationship.

Now, the question is how to express jealousy in the right manner? And the simple answer to this question is that we want to be reasonable about it. We want avoid the two extremes: ignorance and neediness.

We want to let our partner know when we feel jealous and clarify it together, so that it does not “boil” inside your mind. Therefore do that, instead of trying to repress the feeling, or become over controlling and aggressive as a result.

Now, one more thing to keep in mind is that in a healthy relationship, your partner should avoid as much as possible, the situations that could make you jealous. Therefore you need to let your partner know that jealousy is not your favourite emotion, and it’s better for the relationship if he/she avoids potential jealousy situations.

But take note; jealousy can also be a symptom of you being too insecure about yourself. In this case you need to deal first with your insecurities and then the jealousy will be diminishing as a result.

Listen to your partner, really!

Your partner may be trying to say something to you, so pay attention. Most of the times, when jealousy sets in, all your lover wants you to do is pay attention to them, and show them you still care. If you want to work this out, then both of you should be ready to listen to each other and hear what each of you have to say.

#5 Early Signs Of An Unhealthy Relationship.

Try to read your partner’s mind and their actions and give them enough attention if they’re feeling alone while you’re holding someone else’s hand.

Communicate and understand

If you’re annoyed with your partner about something, then just tell them about it. You may sulk and make the day worse for the both of you. Instead of plotting in your mind, just say what’s on your mind and you can work things out faster and have more time to spend in happiness, than in misery. And if your partner wants to tell you something, don’t walk away even if you feel like it makes no sense. Remember, what seems like nonsense to you could mean a lot to your partner when they are hurt and want your reassurance.

Read The Signs

Most of the times, even if your partner is hurt or feeling low, they may not tell you anything about it. So look out for signs that suggest they’re upset about something. Give your sweetheart a hug, rub their shoulders or run your hands through their hair and talk to them. Coax your partner into saying what’s on their mind and let them know that they mean a lot to you. Sometimes, it’s easy to misunderstand, but it’s always easier to make a partner feel better if you try.

Put yourself in their shoes

One of the best ways to deal with jealousy in a relationship is to learn to put yourself in your lover’s shoes. What would you have done if you were in your lover’s place? Would you have behaved the same way? Try to always put yourself in their shoes and try and understand what your partner is going through.
Perhaps, your partner is just being nice or trying to make a good impression. Does everything in the world have to revolve around your partner wanting to break up with you? Come on!

Reassurance

One of the best ways to deal with jealousy is to reassure your partner. If you get angry with your partner for getting jealous, things will only get worse. Tell your mate that you’re sorry to have neglected them, if you did neglect them. Or just reassure your mate and let them know how much you love them and care about them. When someone gets jealous, remember, more than anything else, they’re afraid of losing you and they want your attention, badly!

Jealousy can be cute if it’s experienced in moderation, but anything beyond that can change your happy relationship into a frustrated one. Learn to relax and have a good time when you’re in love, instead of suspecting your lover all the time.

Jealousy in a relationship is just a subconscious way to get attention, so learn to face situations and communicate with your partner when you feel low. And always understand the importance of listening when your partner is depressed or angry for no apparent reason. At times like that, there’s almost always a big reason.

At times, jealousy in a relationship may seem trivial, but if not confronted and overcome, jealousy can
burn your relationship apart. Understanding and reassurance is what it takes to hold your love together and overpower the green eyed monster that’s lurking in the corners, waiting to hurt you and make you hate your lover. So overcome jealousy in a relationship and reassure, communicate and fall in love with your sweetheart, more with every day!

Always remember that jealousy in a relationship is the fear of losing a lover and not a sign of aggression or possessiveness. Learn to deal with jealousy in your relationship with these simple tips and you’ll have a healthier and happier relationship.

This weekend, after 18 months together, my boyfriend told me that he cared very deeply for me and that we had the best partnership he’d ever experienced, but he did not love me because there was a spark missing. So he ended things in a kind and mature way. He is not the first to do that to me, and I can’t help feeling like I am under a curse. I mean, how else do I explain why guys never truly love me?

We’re both in our 30s and the entire thing has been kind and mature and caring (and sexy and vulnerable and honest) from the beginning. I’ve dated my share of guys who were bad partners, and this guy was a good one.

And although I am hurt, I get it. I also know that he was always a little bit on the fence about letting me fully into his life. (Literally and metaphorically: Whenever I would go to his apartment there would never be a place for me to sit. He would have clothes and books and projects piled on every single one of his chairs and his sofa.)

So I kept waiting for him to start taking the actions that would let me in, and he kept waiting for the spark that would make him want to move forward. And in the meanwhile we made a fun little team.

In the end, although I am sad that he and I aren’t going to continue our team, I respect him and I get it. And, to be honest, at my core I’m feeling a bit of relief. I want someone who wants to let me in fully.

What is flooring me is the piece about how he didn’t love me. None of the guys I’ve dated long-term have ever loved me. They’ve liked me a gosh-darn awful lot, but boy-oh-boy do they not want to pull out those three little words.

And I think I’m lovable. Both in my innate humanness and in my adult life. I have my shit together. I went to a therapist as a preemptive measure because I knew this most recent boyfriend and I were about to have either the breakup conversation or the “let’s start taking steps toward building a life together” conversation, and I wanted to talk through how to approach both scenarios.

My therapist said, “There’s nothing about you that is getting in your own way. You have remarkable communication and emotional-coping skills, and you and your boyfriend have a highly evolved partnership.” She used the words “highly evolved.” She did warn me that the fact that he wasn’t physically making space for me in his apartment was a red flag, which, you know, I knew. We agreed that whatever happened between me and the boyfriend would happen in a mature and respectful way and that I would be able to handle it vis-à-vis my remarkable coping skills, and all of these things have come true and I’m still not f**king lovable? I should be cherished.

I realize this sounds like a female version of nice guy. I’d like to think that there’s a difference between “I’m a good person, why won’t you date me” and “I’m a good partner, why don’t you love me,” but maybe there isn’t. I also know that the big difference between me and Nice Guy is when I get broken up with, I didn’t go, “Whyyyyyyyyyy,” I went, “Okay, that’s sad, but it’s true and right and reasonable.” (Nice Guy doesn’t know what the truth of a relationship is, and I know what the truth of a relationship is. But I ache that the truth is always “I don’t love you, good-bye,” instead of “I love you, but good-bye.”)

I know I am not owed love. I also wonder sometimes if I don’t know what love actually feels like, since so many grown men have told me it’s been missing from our relationships. (One came back a year later and said, “Oh wow, I did not realize that I loved you when we dated, I am so sorry.”)

So, what is love? Why is it missing from my highly evolved partnerships? Does anyone care to answer?

It’s quite worthy of note that being the wife of a Soldier is special. I once learnt that Soldiers are trained to treat their wives specially and with utmost respect. This may be reason why a particular woman from my childhood always walked with shoulders high, much to the envy of other women. I may have believed that women who marry Soldiers have little or no worries until I stumbled upon this real life account on Daily Mail.

This woman opened my eyes to the hard realities of being the wife of a Soldier. Please read below:

I am an Army wife and I relish every second of it — the good, the bad and the occasionally ugly. For some reason, I feel incredibly proud of being a military spouse even though I wasn’t the one who had to get through an extremely tough entrance test, go to the Academy and train to be a soldier. But my association with someone who did do all of that — my husband — gives me a lot of pride and pleasure.

Maybe it’s because of what they say — Army wives are the silent ranks, standing by their husbands and holding fort while they are away on duty. That’s a pretty important job. And yes, it’s a full-time job to be an Army wife. We are constantly moving, we belong to every place the Army takes us, we are experts at packing years up in black painted boxes, we stay away from our husbands for years at a stretch, our love for saris is well known, we are rumoured to party like rock-stars and we deal with everything in between.

Our civilian friends have a lot of things to say to us: “You are so strong!” and “How do you do it?” being the most popular ones. I also get “But what about your career? ” a lot from concerned friends and random acquaintances who worry about my having a big degree and not slogging my ass off at a corporate to show for it. The fact that I am a published author, and am still working full-time isn’t satisfactory to them. “But you studied so much!” they sigh. To all this I say eh, can’t please everyone.

But here, I have five crucial aspects of an Army wife’s life that outsiders may not know. Sure, you’ve heard it all. But do you really know how we deal with it? Do you want to know? Well, here you go:

1. Duty calls, and now!

This one is obvious. This is the husband’s profession, and the job requirement is such that the duty calls are, and will always be, over and above everything else. For us spouses, the Army is the first wife who demands a lot of attention and gets it each time. Add to it the dangerous job description and the inability to plan a holiday or even a family function, because duty can call literally anytime. Pretty daunting, right? But we wives learn on the go. We learn to respect our husband’s profession, the challenges it comes with and the demands it makes. And though we may sometime crib about not getting enough time with the husband, most of us are pretty damn proud of his profession. I am!

2. Separations will test your mettle

As a result you will either get tired of living like a single mom every two years or so, or you will realise that distance really does make the heart grow fonder. Seriously, our civilian friends will never understand how tough it is to pack your life in 22 boxes every two years and move to SF (Separate Family) — a term that I assume all Army wives hate as much as they fear the words ambush attack. I’d like to say this to all our civilian friends — separation is never easy. We never get used to it. We miss our husbands incredibly, but life has to go on and we don’t think there is any point in discussing it to no end. We do not need sympathy. Be friendly, don’t give us your pity — we don’t need it.

3. Hierarchy of the wives

Ah, the most controversial topic of all time! Yes, it is true that a few wives wear their husband’s rank as if they’ve earned it themselves. And it is also true that there is a lot of stuff happening that most of the wives don’t see fit for the current century (and hence detest the entire Army Wife Club idea). Personally, I wish we had less of the unnecessary drama and more of productive exercises. I wish we had respect for each other in every situation, and not be rude or condescending with each other. But what people don’t know is that the wives form a major support group in the Army.

I have made amazing friends in the Army wife circle that I would not trade for anything in the world. Our friendships last for ages, survive several postings and phone-number-changes, and grow stronger with every military milestone of our lives. We bond over our unique trials and tribulations and support each other (who else can understand us better?).

4Constant moving

You’ve heard about it a lot, but you will never understand it until you are an Army wife. It’s mighty tough. And I am not even talking about the packing and unpacking, the broken crockery and crystal, or the part where your husband’s stuff goes to a different station and yours to another. I am talking about the leaving the friends part, the having no career part, the kid’s good education and uninterrupted growing up part.

Then there are small but still important issues like finding a new tailor and changing your phone number every two years. But we Army wives have the obvious things covered, and we learn to deal with the separation and the moving. In fact, I quite enjoy the life of a constant traveller. But leaving behind a life that you struggled to set up is always tough. We look forward to the new location, but we always leave a part of ourselves behind.

5. Our kids are the best

Really, they are amazing. Army kids are strong — stronger than us at times. They are resilient. They are well adjusted, confident and gregarious — even the shy ones. The life skill of taking to a new place, new friends and a new life comes easily to them. Or in proper Army lingo, our kids easily acclimatise to changes. That has to be the highlight here, really, because Army kids are a constant source of inspiration and awe to me. Watch them closely, there’s a lot to learn.

This list can be a hundred points longer, I know, so if you have anything else to add to it, feel free.

A friend of mine did a beautiful analysis at the condition of present world’s system with respect to decline in the number of marriages. It was a follow up to a discourse about why some women would remain unmarried even if they really want to get married. So I decided to do this article to explain my position about why many men are scared of marriage in a country like Nigeria.

Men are scared of marriage. Even in countries with great economies, rich men don’t want to get married because they fear their wives could ask for half their property when/if they divorce.

In Nigeria, the cost is too high and men are just comfortable doing it “solo” or having “baby mamas.” The fact that my religious inclination disapproves of that doesn’t make it an issue for me to be silent about. We might think all issues will be solved if we are “delivered” from a kind of demonic oppression through many night vigils and all, but checking the statistics, this appears to have a cause. And when something has a cause and the cause is known, then the solution should be proffered.

The number of wedding keeps declining, men are not really bothered about it especially the ones that are not restricted by any moral stance. But it’s unfair on the part of the ladies because even if they want to “play” it appears to be a thing of joy for them to have a “crown” on their head. I don’t know if that gives them a feeling of satisfaction.

But I think the issue is so paramount to women that some don’t even mind spending their money on the guy just to get him to marry them. Some are financially stable, but just looking for a husband. Can anyone just enlighten me on why it is so important for the ladies?!

While you are at that, it might interest you to know that men are gradually losing interest in marriage because of the financial implications and that is why we have more single ladies these days.

It’s like Isaiah foresaw the issue of finance deterring men from getting into marriage that he said a time is coming and “In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!”” (Isaiah 4:1)

Is this prophecy coming to fulfillment?

Other than finance, what else could be responsible for men shying away from taking that walk down the aisle? Tell me

Conflict arises in the very best of relationships. If there is no conflicts in your relationship, you should immediately get suspicious that something is very wrong. One person is a very good liar or worse, is in denial of his or her emotions.
Conflicts arise out of the differences in your backgrounds, experiences and personalities. When two people come together in a relationship, they will initially experience conflicts which are supposed to reduce with time. Admitting, facing and resolving conflicts is a vital key for a relationship to succeed. If you don't like confrontation of any kind, your relationship will collapse. You should be willing to discuss issues that causes emotional stress or conflict in your relationship.
Some people believe that any form of tension in a relationship is negative and portends problems so, they hide from their feelings and emotions. They harbour all kinds of emotional hurt and pretend that everything is okay. With passing time, these little unexpressed negative emotions become deep rooted problems that end up destroying the relationship. One day, a partnership may just make an innocuous statement and the volcano of building emotions will erupt. People don't just get upset suddenly, it takes time to build up.

There are some Christians who think that experiencing their emotions is a sin don't express anger of any kind. No matter how much their partner, provokes, offends or irritates them, they keep silent and fume inside. They never get depressed, scared or upset. They put up the image of the perfect Christian. This is very dangerous emotionally. Psychologist tell us that such unexpressed emotions may result in psychosomatic illnesses which are as a result of repressed and unexpressed emotions.
Successful couples realize that when they express their true emotions, they are helping the relationship to grow on a deeper emotional and spiritual level. Expressing your emotions shows you are human. Talk about your feelings in a none destructive manner. You can express yourself without hurting your partner in any way.
Learn to use 'I' statements Instead of targeting and attacking your partner with you statements. Tell your partner how you feel about what he or she is doing. Say I feel this way or that way when you do this or say "you are always unfeeling and uncaring, you always say things to hurt me."
Real and lasting intimacy can only be developed in an atmosphere that is strife free. When you face and resolve your conflicts quickly, you create room for love and intimacy, to thrive and grow.

We have recently published  Ladies And Gentleman, Do You Really Want To Get Married? Then Do This. And we have received many messages, so today we are going to talk on FIVE KINDS OF WOMAN YOU SHOULD NEVER DATE OR MARRY.

My bothers over there, there are certain types of woman you should not get involved with if you want t to have a very successful life a d marriage. If you are presently involved in a relationship with any of them, now is the time to dump them.
HERE ARE THE FIVE KINDS OF WOMAN OR LADY YOU SHOULD NEVER MARRY OR DATE.
1. AN IRRESPONSIBLE WOMAN:
My brothers you are lucky if you across this article, don't ever try to marry or date a lady or woman that does little or nothing for herself. She depends on other to handle all the responsibilities of her life. This woman does not like to pay her bills, dept, or other financial responsibilities incurred by her. She is ever Learning on  another person to do the most duties that life demands from her.
Thus woman gets by with her charm, beauty and charisma. People go out of their way to help her handle certain of her responsibilities when she  applies continuous pressure on them. When she get married to you she will expect you to handle all her responsibilities while she does little or nothing to contribute to the success of your relationship. This woman is only a liability to you but she will bring you untold pain.
2. A LIAR:
This occurred when a woman or lady is very eloquent, intelligent and sometimes Charmin. You will never realize that such a woman could be telling you lies because you will never be able to reconcile the outward facade she puts up with who she really is. She conceives and concocts tales that never happened just to impress you. After a while, she just tells lies for no reason.
She is a dept at misrepresenting, hiding, camouflaging and bending the truth. If you catch her telling lies, she first defends the lie with another one, then later confess to you that it was a lie. Because you love her, you keep on forgiving her. Never permit a chronic, recalcitrant and hardened liar to be your friend; she will ruin you.
A liar can also be a thief, sex freak, unfaithful and a waster and you may never discover it. To protect yourself, the first time you catch her lying, forgive her because once is not enough to prove that she is a liar. The next time however, made k her as a liar. Get rid of her as soon as possible before she destroys you.
==> Is Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend Dumped You? If Yes, Then Do This.
3. A WASTER:
A waster lives above her means. She is addicted to buying whatever look good when her she has the money or not. She buys almost everything on credit. She is always paying debts. Never satisfied such a lady, because she will continues to loom for new clothes, jewelry or underwear to buy without paying up her her previous debts.
She compares herself with other successful ladies and tries her very best to be like the even if it cripples her financially. She had no savings or other valuable investments that help her create wealth. Her idea of success is how large her wardrobe is. Because of her habits, she goes out with any nan who can pay up her debts. If you can't, she dumps you for a richer guy. She nay confess that she loves you, but at the end, the bottom lines is how Mich you put on the table to cater for her "addiction".
Don't be deceived into believing that giving her more money will solve her problems because it won't. Her problems is not the lack of money but an uncontrollable desire and drive to SPEND all she has. You cannot change her. Let her go.
